Project overview
A massive underwater seabed canal 200m long and 20m wide was required to be built for the SWRO Plant in the Jebel Ali Power Station.
The client was looking to dredge minimum of 500 m3/hr of sand slurry from the seabed into a temporary coffer-dam being built into the sea, from the shore.

Gulf Sands used 2 nos of their 6” Electric-driven Submersible Dredging Pumps for sale, with flexible 16bar capacity wire-armored hoses to give the required flow. This system proved to be much faster than the conventional method of using long-arm excavators. The pumps ran successfully for 40 days, working on 2 shifts of 10 hrs each. The client was very satisfied that the whole set-up did not clash with their other works, and the shifting of the system to every new location was done seamlessly.
